Persistence in Acting

Sometimes I write about certain topics simply because I need advice the most. Now is one of those times. Please bear with me while I ply myself with quotes to help me keep on, keeping on. Maybe you're having one of those days too. Here are some quotes on persistence because I (you) really, really need them.

"Many of life's failures are people who did not realize how close they were to success when they gave up." - Thomas Alva Edison

Success seems to be largely a matter of hanging on after others have let go." - William Feather

Nothing in the world can take the place of persistence. Talent will not; nothing is more common than unsuccessful men with talent. Genius will not; unrewarded genius is almost a proverb. Education will not; the world is full of educated derelicts. Persistence and determination alone are omnipotent. The slogan 'press on' has solved and always will solve the problems of the human race." - Calvin Coolidge

"Continuous effort - not strength or intelligence - is the key to unlocking our potential." - Sir Winston Churchill
"
Others can stop you temporarily - you are the only one who can do it permanently." - Zig Ziglar
"It is inevitable that some defeat will enter even the most victorious life. The human spirit is never finished when it is defeated - it is finished when it surrenders." - Ben Stein

"People who don't give up keep trying because they don't base their self-worth on their performance." - John Maxwell

"One of the most common causes of failure is the habit of quitting when one is overtaken by temporary defeat." - Napoleon Hill

What's your goal? What's holding you back? No matter what you are striving for, wake up every day and resolve to take one step toward achieving it. Success is achieved in the little steps you take every day. Your character is built in those times that seem the darkest, when there's no reason for you to pick up and move on, but you do anyway. Get out of your own way and resolve to recommit to your goal today.

Keep on keeping on
